Weight is a Very import part of the integrity and life span of a Blade. AvTask weights each blade multiply times throughout the repair process to ensure a weight efficient repair. The final step in the AvTask repair process is to static balance the blade. Using the Avion Universal Static Balance Fixture, the span moment of the blade is returned to the Original Equipment Manufacturer’s specification for span moment.
How do I make blades interchangeable in the field?
Universal Static Balance Fixture (USBF)
Avion / Avtask has developed and time-tested the USBF, a device for statically balancing helicopter main rotor blades. Regular use of the USBF provides the field user with the capability to develop and maintain an interchangeable inventory of rotor blades. Blades that are balanced on the USBF are ready for dynamic balancing and significantly reduces test flight hours required to dynamically balance a set of blades.
